JPD Capital Gets Off To A Flying Start With Its Official Launch Event

On Wednesday night, the JPD Capital team took over the stunning Searcy’s bar and restaurant at the top of The Gherkin – along with several hundred of our invited guests – to celebrate the official launch of JPD Capital, a specialist fund focused on investing in medicinal cannabis-related projects. With an African and Caribbean theme reflecting our growing presence in these regions, the evening began with a lively performance from a steel pan drummer, while guests and investors alike enjoyed a champagne reception.
Our CEO, Jon-Paul Doran, gave an inspiring opening speech where he set out how JPD Capital is spearheading the drive to bring about policy change in the legalisation of cannabis – and helping JPD investors to achieve robust returns in the process.
Moderated by Sky News journalist and presenter Polly Middlehurst, the engaging panel discussion brought together high-profile industry figures to share their insights into the key issues facing the medicinal cannabis industry today.
The Conservative Drug Policy Reform Group was represented on two fronts by adviser Dr. Dani Gordon and chair and founder MP Crispin Blunt. Peter Carroll, seasoned campaigner and founder of “End our Pain” talked about the obstacles that still prevent sufferers from accessing CBD. And rounding off the panel discussion, JPD Capital’s Soheil (Sam) Ghaffari talked the audience through JPD Capital’s exciting plans for cultivating cannabis at scale at their operational locations in Antigua and Zimbabwe. All panellists were united in one common mission – to drive change and ensure that high-quality medicinal cannabis reaches the people who need it most.
